| A 1923 Thomas De La Rue fountain pen. One of the first to have the side lever ink filling method which De La Rue finally adopted in 1923 and 1924.
The cap has a 3.5mm wide solid gold hallmarked trim band, on the upper part of the large ball ended clip the word PAT 1922 is engraved within a small circle. This is pre the De La Rue SUN emblem!. The side lever is unique in design having a three branched flower petal type lifting end.
The chased patterning is in groups each comprised of six wavy lines, each group divided by a smooth non chased lane way. Clear and sharply engraved on the barrel are the words THE DE LA RUE PEN. The nib is the correct De La Rue ONOTO London, a gold medium point in superb condition.
