A 1950s ARTUS LAMY. C Josef Lamy fountain pen manufactured in Heidelberg Germany. Joseph Lamy ceased working for the Parker Pen Company and started manufacturing his own fountain pens in 1930, firstly using the brand name of Orthos. In 1949 production of a newly designed series called Artus commenced. A streamlined model featuring a piston ink filling mechanism called Tintomatic which regulated the flow rate of ink. This is one of the first models to bear his actual name engraved on the pens barrel C. Josef Lamy Heidelberg Germany. Further features are the four clear ink reservoir viewing window sections and the partially hooded nib. A medium point 585 gold nib in perfect condition. Ink filling is done by partially twist unscrewing the end section of the barrel. The first model of German pens to have a hooded nib. Authenticated by the actual name C Josef Lamy. A super quality and scarce model type of fountain pen.
