| SOLD. One of the comparatively few button method or sometimes called stud method ink filling models that the Burnham company made, nearly all of their pens were lever filling models. Engraved clearly on the pens barrel section is The Burnham, this is one of the models produced before the company started to distinguish their different models with a number and letter denotation in the early 1950s.
A circa 1935 pen having a design of pocket clip of the period known as the teardrop clip. This is one of the top models from the range of Burnham fountain pens, although all the series of fountain pens made by the Burnham company are well made quality pens. The original Burnham 14 carat gold super quality medium point size nib is in perfect condition. A new rubber ink sac has been fitted.
The varied shades of rose pink pearl effect combined with the black base color form this very attractive eye catching pattern. The Burnham company went into liquidation in the early 1960s, over the years since then their fountain pens have progressively gained favour with enthusiastic collectors. |
