| A few of the early pens produced by H Burnham and Sons date from the 1920s, from the outset this small company was based in the Selhurst Road SE London, and later from Chalcroft Road Hither Green London.
Whilst not acknowledged as one of the major Internationally marketing companies of the era the Burnham Company produced superb fountain pens of superior quality.
This late 1940s model number 51 is produced in a beautiful iridescent effect coulour of varied pale blue pearl shades outlined with strong black veins. The 14 carat gold Burnham slightly broad medium point size nib is excellent. Ink filling being by side lever a new rubber ink sac has been fitted.
A very difficult fountain pen to acquire in such perfect condition and perhaps now regerded as a classic pen. |
