| A selection of fountain pens shown in the 1925 Watermans catalogue had pocket clips and trim bands made in sterling silver or in 14 carat gold. This exquisite model thirty two and a half, the half indicates a slender designed model, has the gold ball end design pocket clip engraved with the Watermans World Globe emblem, since both the clip and the boxed design side lever are not hallmarked the gold content cannot be definitively determined. The Watermans Ideal Canada gold medium point size nib which also has no gold hallmark is in as if new condition, this might pre date the introduction of the standard requirement for engraving the gold carat content on fountain pen nibs. A new rubber ink sac has been fitted. This is an exceptionally rare classic fountain pen in pristine condition doubtlessly manufactured during the early 1920s at Watermans Canadian factory in Quebec. |
