A late 1920s circa Conklin endura model 37PB. This fountain pen was made in America at the Conklin Toledo Ohio factory. Attractively coloured in mottled shades of dark brown with reflective gold bronze and black.
In 1924 Conklin restyled their durograph pen which had only been in production for 18 months and renamed it as the endura. This series then became one of the best selling models. The shop retail price was just 6 Dollars. The crescent symbol was added in 1930.
On the side lever of this pen is engraved the patent date Nov 17 1925 and on the lifting end of the side lever is the engraved crescent logo. A shorter length pen designed for ladies having a ribbon ring top. A new rubber ink sac has been fitted. Again the crescent emblem is seen as the vent hole in the Toledo gold nib, the nib design dates before the introduction of standardizing the engraving of the gold carat content on nibs. A medium point size nib in about as new condition.
