| Conway Stewart model 475M early 1930s era having the diamond pointed pocket clip as opposed to the slightly earlier ball end design clip. Note the flat top clip securing cap which is also in matching red ripple usually this section is in black.
From about 1919 Conway Stewart started manufacturing the side lever models. This is a rare model, clearly engraved on the barrel is the wording Conway Stewart London No 475M, M for mottled. A very eye catching colouring in red ripple or sometimes in other models called woodgrain.
At 13cm overall length slightly longer than the similar model 479. Having a superb size 5 14 carat gold Conway Stewart nib which is in about as new condition. Note that this pen features a forward section and underneath nib ink feed which is also in the same mottled red ripple.
To say that this pen is exquisite is probably an understatement. |
