The Cook islands of the South Pacific Ocean lay to the northeast of New Zealand. Captain James Cook sailed to this group of 15 islands in 1773 again in 1774 and 1777. The islands are under New Zealand influence. Listed in Pick's catalogue P.3 graded as seen at non circulated, or mint. A 1987 issue three Dollars Bank Note, the figure on the back depicts the God Te Rongo
