| Designed to resemble the Cross Art Deco style pens manufactured by the company long ago. From the outset in about 1875 the Townsend Cross company had focused on production of the Stylograph pen, forerunner to the Rapidograph technical drawing pens later made by Rotring of Germany. In 1982 after forty years of production restricted to within the scope of drawing instruments pencils and ballpoint pens the Cross company resumed production of fountain pens. Housed in the impressively well made quality Cross presentation case this fountain pen and propelling pencil set is in as new unused condition. Made at the Cross factory in Lincoln, Rhode Island U.S.A. and finished in polished chrome, the fountain pen has a 23 carat gold plated medium broad size nib ink filling being by ink cartridge method. The propelling pencil takes size 0.5mm. leads. A superb good quality set of distinction. |
