A rare circa 1910 Peter Pan miniature Eyedropper pen by Salz Bros. Having a silver ribbon ring inset at the top of the cap and finished by hand in silver overlay with hand engraved fleck patterning. The gold nib engraved PONY is in perfect condition.
The Salz brothers (actual brothers) established in New York were renowned jewellery traders specialising in gold and silver filigree work. Apparently for their own private reasons both brothers decided to return to Germany in or about late 1937 they never returned to New York and their fate met in Germany remains unknown?.
These pens were popular and much used by fashionable Ladies for making diary notes, they would also wear them attached by the ribbon at society ball dances using the pen to make note’s for reserving their dance partners.
