An exceptionally rare eyedropper fountain pen, manufactured in either black hard rubber or vulcanite material. Clearly engraved in capital letters on the pens barrel is the wording 'BLACK KNIGHT No.1' and 'STARK SON - HAMILTON LTD'. The machine chased patterning is of closely spaced groups of fine lines, separated by plain black lanes between, and further spaced within the fine lines are chevron shaped patterns which enhance the patterning. Circa 1905 to 1913, roughly 94 years old or more, and today exactly as it were when newly bought. Having the original paper instructions leaflet, and the glass funnel pipette for ink filling. Having the original 14 carat gold nib, and housed in its presentation box. Rare. |
