Eclipse Fountain Pen and Pencil Set

A rare set manufactured in Toronto by The Eclipse Fountain Pen and Pencil Company Limited which was well established by 1925 as the only Canadian fountain pen manufacturing company. These early sets were made to comply with stringent quality standards. The diameter across the fountain pens barrel measures a half inch or one point three centimetre and the diameter across the cap is one point five. A large robust pen measuring thirteen point seven centimetre in overall length when capped. The ball end design gold filled pocket clips are engraved ECLIPSE with the Patent date 18 September 1923 and have the Eclipse encircled company emblem. Made in attractively coloured cream Cellulose nitrate material with a pattern of black veins. In perfect condition the authentic 14 carat gold medium point size nib is engraved Canada with the Eclipse oval shaped emblem. Ink filling is by side lever method the lever being a boxed design type having the Eclipse emblem engraved on it, a new rubber ink sac has been fitted. A very rare and outstanding pen and pencil set. The process of oxidation over the years has caused some toning loss of the original cream colouring on the fountain pen.
