| Throughout the height of the boom years early 1920s to 1940 there were more than 80 fountain pen manufacturing companies based in France. One of the most noted in Paris for quality and craftsmanship was the Mallat fountain pen company which had also opened a subsidiary London office in the 1920s.
This fountain pen is rather similar in style to some of the designs of the French diverse pens produced during this period.
The forward section of this pen features a transparent ink viewing reservoir, ink filling being by piston pump mechanism operating a cork airtight seal.
Manufactured in celluloid material finished in this attractive mottled shades of light blue marble pattern.
The 14 carat gold medium point size nib is in as new condition.
