Description
Exceptionally rare and in exceptional condition, perhaps one of only a very few early eye dropper propietary made fountain pens produced for newspaper journalists. Founded in 1841 The Tribune newspaper became established and merged with the New York Herald in 1924, the name was then changed to form the New York Herald Tribune, which prospered and continued publications until 1967. Engraved on the barrel section of this pen is the wording, Heaths Tribune New York. Could this pen be thought of as a small item perhaps related to the history of The 1895 Trubune Association of New York. The two skillfully carved decorative trim bands on the pens barrel section are in 14 carat gold, and the gold nib is engraved with the same wording, Heaths Tribune New York. Thought to be of the period between 1900 to 1912.
