| Six illistrations taken from copper plate engravings produced from the work of the English painter Turner. The original paintings may be viewed at the Gallery of British Art, in the South Kensington Museum London. There are six engravings, each measuring 27cm. x 17cm. dimentions of the actual picture, not including the optional frame for each. 1: As shown ; Caligula's Palace and Bridge. 2: Ulysses Deriding Polyphemus. 3: Entrance of Fowey Harbour. 4: Phryne Going To The Bath As Venus. 5: The Golden Bough. 6: The Lake of Lucerne.
Born in London 1775, died at Chelsea London 1851. J.M.W. Turner R.A. Celebrated English landscape and pictorial artist painter, his first picture to be exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1787 gained him acknowledgement by the age of twelve. In 1799 he was elected associate of the Royal Academy of Art, later he was recognised as academician and appointed professor in 1807. Many other celibrated engravings taken from his paintings, illistrations, some relating to Italy were authorised to be produced within strict limitations. Turners remains lie in the crypt of St. Paul's Cathedral.
