SOLD. The kirikane artwork being in gold leaf cut in various shapes and individually applied to settle on the applied coats of wet lacquer. The artist is Mausui Yamanaga. Born 1892 he graduated from Ooita Prejectural Industrial Art School in 1909 becoming independent as a renown artist in 1918. He was sub contracted by the Namiki Company in 1930, an acknowledged artist awarded many prizes in recognition of his expertise. The pen nib is a superb 14 carat gold warranted medium point size. This is termed a half maki-e since the artwork does not extend to the cap section. A classic Japanese fountain pen by Namiki.
