The artist is Mausui Yamanaga. Born 1892 he graduated from Ooita Prejectural Industrial Art School in 1909 becoming independent as a renown artist in 1918. He was sub contracted by the Namiki Company in 1930, an acknowledged artist awarded many prizes in recognition of his expertise.
The pen nib is a superb 14 carat gold warranted medium point size. This is termed a half maki-e since the artwork does not extend to the cap section. A classic Japanese fountain pen by Namiki. |
