The Jock fountain pen circa 1920s. Probably over 80 years old yet new and unused. There were numerous British pen manufacturers throughout the height of the era from the advent of pen production. Many fountain pens were custom adapted for promotional purposes, this pen called The Jock appears to have been custom produced for WR & S Ltd possibly a Scottish company of the period. Engraved with these names on the barrel, manufactured in black hard rubber type material with chased patterning. A clipless model. Detachable clips were bought separately. Ink filling is by side lever method. A replacement new rubber ink sac has been fitted. When capped the pens overall length is 5 and a half inches. The 14 carat gold nib is a medium point size.An elegant pen of radiant quality, rare and ideally suited for the enthusiast pen collector, also perfectly suitable for everyday use. |
