| First introduced in 1923 these ripple pattern pens quickly became very popular. An exceptionally rare ribon ring top Waterman Ladies fountain pen and propelling pencil set manufactured at the Canadian factory in Quebec and likely bought at the retailer L.E. Waterman Company Limited Building in Montreal in 1925. This model number 0952 and a half has a 14 carat solid gold casting fitted over the cap with the ribbon ring inset into each cap top. The wording St. Marys Lethbridge Canada 1926 is engraved on both pen and pencil. Produced in Vulcanite or ebonite, a material derived from hard rubber, creating this orange colouring with black swirls known as the red ripple pattern. Ink filling is by side lever method a new rubber ink sac has been fitted. Inside the base of the presentation hinged lid case the original printed paper leaflet which gives a diagram showing how to ink fill the fountain pen and how to replace the propelling pencil lead with printed instructions is still there. The gold Watermans IDEAL Canada medium point size nib apperas as though never used. This set is in absolutely pristine condition, today just as if stepping back some 82 years in time and buying the set just as it was when new. A rare and classic Canadian Waterman pen set.
