A circa early 1930s Mentmore Auto flow fountain pen, a senior model of the auto flow series the pens barrel measures 1.3 centimetres. About half an inch diameter and the pens overall length with the cap in place is 12.8 centimetres just over 5 inches.
Manufactured from black permanite material with a patterning of chased closely spaces fine wavy lines. The nickel plated pocket slip is a teardrop design, having a single gold plated trim band. The Mentmore 14 carat gold Osmi iridium nib has a medium broad point in excellent condition. Ink filling is by button method, accessed by unscrewing the blind cap at the end of the barrel section a new rubber ink sac has been fitted.
These early models of the Memtmore range are fast becoming scarce to find in good condition.
