| A 1974 Montblanc Meisterstuck fountain pen. The Simplo Filler Pen Company formed in Hamburg Germany started production in 1908. Renown worldwide today as Montblanc their Meisterstuck collection was introduced in 1952. The most outstanding fountain pen of this classic series remains this model 149 almost affectionately called The Fat Pen.
A circa 1974 Montblanc 149 Meisterstuck, meaning Masterpiece. The six pointed white star symbol designed to suggest the snow capped peak of the mountain. The superb 14 carat gold nib is inlaid with Platinum and engraved with the number 4810 the height in metres of Europe's highest mountain Montblanc at 15,781 feet, a medium point nib. The pocket clip and trim bands are electroplated in quality 22 carat gold.
