| The trademark N was initiated in 1918, in about 1925 the Pilot Pen MFG Co Ltd manufactured their economy series of Namiki fountain pens. These were produced either in laccanite a specially developed material or in a mainly plain black celluloid material.
Engraved clearly on the barrel of this pen is the Pilot Namiki trademark showing the letter N centered within the lifebuoy emblem dating this pen as earlier to the companys name change from MFG Co. Ltd to the name Pilot Fountain Pen Co Ltd made in 1938 when the lifebuoy emblems centered letter was then changed to a P. Engraved on the nickel plated pocket clip is 'Pilot'.
A fairly chunky robust pen. Ink filling is by side lever method a new ink sac has been fitted. During these years the Japanese Government placed stringent restrictions on the availability of various materials including gold, therefore a warranted nib is fitted engraved Warranted over 14 carats over 1st quality with the number 5 engraved within a diamond shaped outline, a top quality nib in unused condition.
