By the turn of the eighteenth century, based in Leicestershire,the Wyvern fountain pen company had become established in the Midlands of the U.K. The company derived its trade name Wyvern from the mythical two legged barbed tailed Dragon featured on the heraldic coat of arms of Leicestershire.
The Wyvern fountain pen company ceased business in 1955.
