Classic Fountain Pen

The clip cap secured to the pens cap with two gold plated rivets, a ball end design coat pocket clip designed with a large size ball at the clips end was introduced by Watermans in 1905, the early clip caps were engraved with the patent date until 1910 following that date the pocket clips remained engraved with the usual Ideal Globe emblem adopted in 1901. The regular Watermans 52, having been a commonly used fountain pen by members of the armed forces during the first World War, is the more easily obtainable pen from the series produced.

This early 1920s model 55 is one of the very hard to find pens of the same series.

Still in perfect condition the authentic gold Ideal nib is a slightly larger size 5 medium point of the design used from 1918. Ink filling is by side lever method.
