A 1940s Palladium fountain pen. The Unique Pen Company Ltd was just one of several of the smaller companies with only modest resources at their disposal for manufacturing. The company flourished to become established by the early 1940s. This Palladium fountain pen still has the retail paper price band wrapper round its barrel. Made by the Unique Pen Company Ltd London. This model was offered for sale at 2 shillings and 6 pennies. Having a 14 carat gold warranted medium point size nib in excellent condition. Whilst the gold plating on the pocket clip is in perfect condition, the gold plating on the side lever has some erosion. A new rubber ink sac has been fitted. The pen comes housed in its original presentation box with the paper leaflet giving directions on ink filling the pen. Manufactured in black ebonite or vulcanite type material. Undoubtedly a rare pen ideal for the enthusiastic collector. |
