Description
A Parker 65 fountain pen circa 1970s manufactured in stainless steel with a matt finish and chrome trim band at the mouth of the cap. The gold filled Parker arrow pocket clip is of the longer length design at 4.4 centimetres. Ink filling is by cartridge method. Having the Parker grey pearl plastic jewel stone insets one at the top of the cap with another inset into the end of the barrel.
In 1969 Parker announced this model 65 as a variation from the model 61, being similar in all aspects to the standard 61 model except in that it is fitted with an open beak shaped design nib which is fitted onto the forward ink feed assembly section slotted over the ink feed.
This pen was something of a transition model between the popular model 61 with the capillary self filling system and the development of the model 75. The prominent beak shaped Parker 14 carat gold nib has a ball point making it an equally suitable pen for either left or right handed writers, a medium point ball tipped nib.
