| A 1929 Parker Duofold two piece set, during the year 1929 the Lucky Curve imprint which would normally have been engraved on the barrel section of these models was discontinued as part of the streamline style design changes made to the Duofold range. Coincidendly launched at about the same time as the October 1929 stock market crash triggering the start of the great depression period. The gold plated pocket clips are of the earlier period design used from 1926 which have a larger size ball at the clips end, these are engraved Parker in bold capital lettering with the patent date for September 5. 16. Ink filling is by button method accessed by unscrewing the black end cap piece at the end of the pens barrel section. A new ink rubber sac has been fitted. This is the long length model of fountain pen being slightly longer than the more standard size of this Duofold series. As is inevitably the case for this particular jade colour there is a degree of colour discolouration mostly over the fountain pens barrel section. The gold Parker Duofold Canada broad point nib is excellent writing very smoothly. For the propelling pencil spare leads are kept inside the barrel accessed simply by pulling off the upper part section which reveals the rubber eraser. Length of the fountain pen when capped is 5 inches. |
