By the mid 1920s the Parker Pen factory in Toronto Canada was well established, between 1934 to 1939 Parker's manufactured a number of Economy models the first of this series produced in 1934 was this Parker Parkette De Luxe. The cap having three spaced gold plated trim bands denotes a top of the series model. A unique feature for Parker Pens is this design of longitudinal fluted grooves pattern. At the top of the cap and at the end of the barrel the blind caps are each highlighted by the white spacer. The ball end pocket clip features the larger size of ball, on some of these models three chevrons are engraved on the pocket clip. Ink filling is by side lever method a new rubber ink sac has been fitted. The authentic two tone 14K gold nib is engraved Parkette De Luxe over Canada in capital lettering. The medium broad left oblique nib is in excellent condition. The manufacturers wording Parkette De Luxe Made in Canada engraved in capital lettering on the pens barrel is sharp and clear. A rare fountain pen. |
