One of Germany's oldest fountain pen manufacturers. Founded in 1878 the Pelikan trade mark emblem has long become well internationally recognised. The first Pelikan fountain pens were manufactured in 1925, by late 1928 the newly designed Pelikan model 100 pens featuring a piston pump ink filling mechanism and incorporating an ink reservoir chamber viewing transparent section were launched. After World War II the model 100N was re made with a fluted patterned pocket clip and ribbed cap trim band. This is one of the 1947 Pelikan 100N fountain pens a scarce pen to acquire for the collector of old classic models. Perfectly usable as an every day fountain pen. The superb Broad Italic original Pelikan 14 carat gold nib is in perfect condition having a very broad point. Engraved in capital lettering round the top of the pens cap section is Patent with the name Pelikan in lower case script style lettering, further engraved in outline and infilled in green on the top of the pens cap is the Pelikan emblem. A classsic 1947 Pelikan model 100N fountain pen.
