| Simon Tissot Dupont founded Le Society Dupont in Paris 1872, about 100 years later in 1973 the idea of manufacturing fountain pens of exceedingly excellent quality occured to the S.T.Dupont company. The various models produced of a series were not always clearly distinguishable in respect of which given name related to which model of pen from any series. This superb fountain pen is hopefully of the early 1978 porte plume Classique series produced with a thick gold plate overlay. Ink filling is by the fixed piston pump method. The 18 carat gold nib writes very smoothly with a featherlight touch it has a medium broad point. Engraved along the side edge of the pocket clip is the six digit owners identification number. A super pen in about as if new condition. |
