| The many different model numbers attributed to the full range of the Mabie Todd Company's fountain pen models is unfathomably confusing, no experts have yet been able to confidently understand the model numbering system.
Many models look identical although given different numbers. This 3361appears to be no different than the 3350 launched in 1949.
Other minor differences migh give a vague clue about the real period of manufacture.
This Swan fountain pen is in excellent condition, the gold plating is perfect, although in the photograph the side lever looks tarnished.
The type of side lever for example, being a simple straight design with no circular piece at the finger lifting end, along with other features of the pen give a basic idea of the production period.
The larger size 3 medium point 14 carat gold nib has a good degree of flexibility, all amounting to a high quality robust fountain pen from the late 1930s. |
