| A late 1920s Swan Blackbird fountain pen manufactured in black hard rubber or vulcanite type material. In pristine condition. Side lever ink filling method. A new ink sac has been fitted.
About 80 years old yet this pen looks as if it were made only yesterday. The engraved outline of the Blackbird in flight emblem and the Mabie Todd & Company Ltd wording on the barrel is sharp and clear. The 14 carat gold Blackbird nib is as new a medium to broad point size.
These pens are fast becoming more difficult to find, and are prized pens for many collectors. Around the top of the cap BLACKBIRD is engraved in capital letters. Polish finished to a high sheen. |
