A 1946 Swan model 6142 Fountain pen. After a lean period of limited production and much disruption throughout the war years Mabie Todd Swan Company moved to new premises and resumed production in 1946.
This post war Swan 6142 manufactured in celluloid material is attractively coloured in varying shades of pale blue and darker blue mottled with black. Engraved in white outline on the top of the pens cap is the swan emblem. The Swan 14 carat gold medium size 1 nib is as new.
Overall this pen is in excellent condition with no apparent wear on the gold plated parts. Ink filling is by side lever method. A new rubber ink sac has been fitted. A near 60 year old as new pen.
