| A beautiful fountain pen and propelling pencil set from the mid 1920s, the design resembling the once fashionable art decoherence style.
The jade marble colouring has not lost it's original luster, a specially striking feature is the gold filled trim band on both the top and the bottom of the cap these are accentuated with contrasting black inlayed bands.
The outline Swan trade logo imprint engraved on the fountain pen barrel conforms with the older type used from 1911, whilst the approximate date of manufacture would be 1927, engraved on the barrel section with the standard wording Mabie Todd and Co. New York. The propelling pencil is a Fyne Poynt, Swan spare leads are inclusive.
The fountain pen is ink filled by the side lever method, a new ink sac has been fitted, the Swan 14 carat gold type 2 nib a medium size. |
