A Swan No 2 fountain pen circa 1921 TO 1925. Mabie Todd & Co Ltd began production in England in about 1907, although the Swan nibs were made in New York and imported to the company's London factory. This pen was made in the U.K. and has the authentic imported Mabie Todd & Co Ltd size 2 gold New York nib, a medium point nib which is in superb condition. Manufactured in black hard rubber material with a chased pattern of wavy lines. Ink filling is by side lever method. A new ink sac has been fitted. A larger pen than the standard Swan 2 model C2 M22 which has an overall length of 13.5 centimetres where as the length of this pen is 14 centimetres. With a wider 12mm barrel diameter, altogether a larger pen. The 18 carat 11mm wide gold trim band is engraved 'Nell Oct 10th 25' in ornate script wording. A true classic fountain pen, as good today as it was when made some 82 years ago. Scarce and perfect for the enthusiast collector investor. |
