| Throughout the years of the War in Europe newly made fountain pens became extremely scarce, the pen manufacturers had strict limitations imposed and due to the shortage of labour and materials only a minimal production was possible, during this immediate post war period the Swan Mabie, and Todd Company, decided to dispense with the system of model numbering.
The fountain pens made prior to that decision coming into effect had a specific model code number imprinted horizontally across the end part of the pens barrel section, this helps in identifying the year of manufacture.
The model number of this excellent Swan pen is 6241, estimated to have been made during the year 1945.
Produced in a most attractive blend of light catching reflective green pearl colour shades on black.
The perfect Swan 14 carat gold nib, has a good degree of flexibility with a medium size point. |
