Sylographic Pen CAW 1905

From about late 1880 until 1915 The CAW Pen and Ink Company operated from 76 Duane Street New York City, this CAW stylographic pen is one of the models made between 1905 and 1908. Manufactured in black hard rubber material finished with a chased chevron pattern, seldom seen is the then newly adopted bird perched on a bottle of ink company emblem which is engraved on the pens barrel section above the model number 201. Engraved on the forward section is F.C. Brown patent serial number dated 26 September year 1882. The design of this CAW model is very much like the early Alonzo Townsend Cross stylographic ink pencil pens produced from 1880. A very rare item.
