| An exquisite Swan ladies chatelaine eye dropper fountain pen, well over one hundred years old, manufactured in black chased vulcanite material with ornately engraved patterning on the quality rolled gold filigree.
Swan fountain pens were introduced in Britain by Mabie Todd and Bard in 1884. This pen is dated to about 1907 since the name of Bard was discontinued in 1906, complete with the original safety pin for attaching the pen to a dress.
A beautiful pen housed in the original presentation case complete with the ink filling eye dropper glass pipette and a printed paper leaflet giving details with a diagram of how to ink fill and look after this Swan pen. A truely classic fountain pen in superb condition. Note, only 1 pen, as shown, now remaining. |
