Watermans 52 Flat Top Fountain Pen 1927

A 1927 Waterman Ideal model 52 fountain pen manufactured in plain black hard rubber material. The wording WATERMANS MADE IN CANADA is engraved on the side of the cap. Having a nickel plated ball end pocket clip engraved with the circular Waterman emblem and the word IDEAL WATERMAN engraved down the clip. The nickel plating on the boxed side lever is in excellent condition, on the finger lifting end of the side lever again the circular Waterman World globe emblem is engraved. On the main barrel section the emblem and wording is faint. Patent dates being 1884 and 1899 and the wording WATERMAN FOUNTAIN PEN N.Y. U.S.A. AUG 4 1909 is decipherable. The nib is a gold Waterman IDEAL NEW YORK design dated 1907 to 1918 before the gold carat number was used as standard on pen nibs. The nib is in good condition. On the end of the barrel base the model number 52 is engraved. This pen comes complete with its blue coloured original presentation box. The paper printed directions leaflet is available. An early model 52 in excellent condition.
