The Waterman's Clip Cap ball end pocket clip was designed and introduced in 1905, over the following years eight variations of this particular design were produced. This Watermans fountain pen is manufactured in black vulcanite material and fitted with an 18 carat gold filled ball end clip cap of the type used in the early 1920s. Ink filling is by side lever method. The side lever being an inset boxed design, a new rubber ink sac has been fitted. The two gold plated trim bands have slight brassing at the side edge of each band, one band being engraved with the initials W E and the other engraved 1925. The superb Waterman's IDEAL gold medium point nib pre dates the introduction of engraving the gold carat content as standard practice on fountain pen nibs. |
