| SOLD. One of Germany's oldest and most renown fountain pen manufacturers. Registered in 1878 the design of the Pelikan beak symbol was taken from the Wagner family crest, over the period of intervening years the Pelikan trade mark emblem has become well internationally recognised.
The first Pelikan fountain pens were manufactured in 1925, by mid 1928 the newly designed Pelikan model 100 pens featuring a piston pump ink filling mechanism and incorporating an ink reservoir chamber viewing transparent section were launched.
This is one of the first of the Pelikan series of fountain pens, this Patent model 100 is a very rare piece indeed for the serious collector of old classic models to acquire. Some 120 or more years old yet if required still perfectly usable as an every day fountain pen.
The original Pelikan gold plated nib has a medium point size and is in perfect condition. Engraved round the top of the pens cap section is the word Patent, in capital letters, with the name Pelikan in lower case script style lettering.
Really a special old fountain pen possibly within the scope of writing instruments even of historic interest. |
